Rainforest Alliance at Glory Coffee
Glory Coffee selects raw specialty coffee beans from specific countries and regions for their taste and quality. For any given origin country, we will choose the Rainforest Alliance Certified option whenever it is available. We would love to have all our blends with 100 per cent RFA Certified content, but this is simpy not possible. Some countries have no RFA Certified option at all, and the raw coffee we regularly import is subject to shortages due to excessive global demand as well as natural disasters like floods and droughts - just like any natural product. This is why we sometimes cannot offer certain beans as single-origin coffee and why our blends' RFA Certified content goes up and down.
We at Glory Coffee are proud to say that we were the first in Hong Kong to actively promote RFA Certified coffee, but exactly what are we promoting? Coffee farming families live on plantations for generations. These people need education, health care and reasonable pay, and the Rainforest Alliance helps to ensure that they do not go without. Further, Rainforest Alliance Certified producers use farming methods that preserve trees and wildlife and prevent erosion and contamination.
